Aurora - 11-5-2001
We were treated to a massive display of Northern Lights in early November. It was even visible from my light bound home in Woodhaven. I got a call from Harry Juday that alerted me to the event at about 10:30 in the evening. I dashed outside and set up a camera on a tripod to record the show.
All of these shots are taken with a Canon F1 camera and a Tameron 17mm f3.5 lens mounted on a heavy Bogen Tripod. The exposures were roughly 30 seconds long and I used a roll of Kodak Supra 400 film. the excessive lighting around my home washed out the colors to a disappointing degree but even with the lights you can see some structure here.
