North Milky Way

 

Date:            February 1999

Location:      Echo Canyon Parking Lot - Chiricahua Mountians Arizona       

Equipment:  Canon F-1, 24mm f2.8 lens set at f4, Equatorial Camera Platform, Manually guided using an Orion Short Tube 80.

Conditions:   Best I have seen - lots of dust in the air.

Film:             Kodak Ektapress PJ400

Exposure:     10 minutes

Comments:    As shown in the photo, the stars were quite visible right down to the horizon.  This shot shows the Milky Way setting in the northwest.  Note M31, M33 and the double cluster!  Deneb has just set in this photo.
